Ruby Murray

Ruby Hansen Murray is the winner of the 2017 Montana Prize in Nonfiction, awarded fellowships at Ragdale, Hedgebrook and Fishtrap. Her work appears in World Literature Today, CutBank, About Place and The RumpusShe received an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts and has offered workshops at the Port Townsend Writers Conference, Chicago American Indian Center and Mt. Edgecumbe High School. She’s a citizen of the Osage Nation who lives with her spouse in a commercial fishing community along the lower Columbia River. She’s completing an essay collection entitled When Blood is Oil, and at work on a novel, There’s the Indian! set in Oklahoma.
