John Witham, an award-winning filmmaker and interactive media producer, was born in Miami, Oklahoma.

John studied Art and Photography at Austin College in Sherman, Texas where he also briefly dabbled in painting.His career in commercial media production began in Detroit in the late 70’s by engineering music for Parliment-Funkadelic. He then worked in television, film and interactive media production in Chicago and Austin. His development team won a Texas Interactive Media Award in 1998 for “In Praise of the Horse.”John began independently producing documentary films about art and culture in the early 90’s with “Grassroots Technoculture,” a film about Austin’s Robot Group art collective. More recently his fictional narrative film “The Twilight Angel,” a collaboration with artists James

Koskinas and Julie Schumer, won a Silver Remi Award at the 2014 Houston International Film Festival.

John has also contributed articles, essays and news reports to Nuclear Watch New Mexico, a non-profit watchdog group in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has played in several bands in Chicago and Austin and currently produces music as half of the Witham-Kirkland duo.

John and Linda Leslie live with their two dogs, Kayla, the exuberantly loving Pit-Lab and Sally, the sweetly beautiful Borzoi, in Missoula, Montana.
